We hiked to the international famous Arches National Park during that trip. When Christopher was around eight weeks, we went to Kanab, Bryce Canyon, Red Canyon and played in the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.
It was a long drive with breathtaking views on both sides. He did amazing. He had fun and kept his brown eyes opened all the way. I know we had luck, but seriously, traveling with a baby or small children is doable and even very enjoyable.
Around the end of 2013, my friend, her husband, my then two-year-old son, and I drove from Texas to Honduras. It was a total of three days, passing through four countries until we arrived in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Christopher had a blast. I made sure he was fed, had enough games on my phone and tablet, I talked a lot to him and we sang and danced in the car. We made several stops to rest, eat, and enjoy our surroundings.
Try to find things that will entertain your kids for example coloring books, phones or tablets. I recommend playing a movie about adventure while driving that way they get into the “adventure atmosphere.”
Something else I suggest is to get the older kids involved in the planning.
